At UHS, you can bring your skills to the field or a physician practice! We are the leading Sports Medicine program in the region with 10 high school athletics contracts. Our team provides athletic training, physician sideline coverage, athlete strength, conditioning, and sports performance training.
The UHS Sports Medicine team also acts as the team physicians for Binghamton University D1 Athletics and Hartwick College (D3). We’re proud to support a number of local club sports teams and community events as well.

If you choose our physician practice opportunity, you will still have many opportunities available to maintain your field-level skills and sideline involvement with stipend earnings! This includes coverage of UHS’s D1/D3 collegiate and high school athletic contracts. This role offers Monday through Friday day shift coverage with major holidays off.
We are located at the UHS Orthopedic Center in Binghamton. A 68,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art facility, built in 2016 to house all our musculoskeletal services, including a 12,000-square-foot physical therapy space and a sports performance gym. Under one location, we offer Orthopedics, Sports Medicine, Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation, Podiatry, Rheumatology, Concussion Management, and Physiatry.

We oversee Sports Medicine at 10 local high schools. Our teams cover practices and games and work closely with the school’s strength and conditioning coach to help reduce and manage injuries at these locations. We also help manage rehab programs for our athletes at schools or in one of our five physical therapy clinics.
As a UHS Athletic Trainer, you’ll have the freedom and flexibility to accomplish your objectives based on your unique individuality. You will be part of a supportive sports medicine team composed of physicians, physical therapists, strength coaches, athletic trainers, behavioral health specialists, nurse practitioners, and dieticians who are always happy to help you!
